Prestige Honors Kate Spade

Prestige Global Meeting Source will honor Kate Spade’s memory with a donation to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
Minneapolis, MN, June 14, 2018 – Prestige | Global Meeting Source announced today that the company will honor Kate Spade’s memory with a donation to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).
As a global site-selection company that caters to meeting planners, Prestige has hosted networking events for the past 3 years with the theme “An Evening with Kate and Jack.” After each event, the company sends event attendees home with a Kate Spade or Jack Spade gift of their choosing.
To honor Kate Spade’s memory, Prestige will donate $10 on behalf of each meeting planner who attends the Prestige Networking Events throughout 2018. The donation will be made in memory of Kate Spade to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. For the company’s upcoming event in Kate Spade’s birthplace of Kansas City, Prestige will donate $20 on behalf of each meeting planner in attendance.
Prestige will also change the name of the theme to “An Evening with Prestige” to further respect and honor the loss of this incredible fashion icon and entrepreneur.
Suicide awareness and prevention has historically been an important cause to Prestige, as the company has donated more than $20,000 to Paws and Stripes, an organization that provides service dogs for Veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury. The number of military veterans returning from combat with PTSD and TBI is staggering, but service dogs can help them live better lives – and save their lives. According to a study done at Purdue, Veterans with PTSD symptoms and other aspects of mental health who were paired with service dogs showed significantly lower levels of post-traumatic stress, depression and social isolation, with higher levels of psychological well-being.
If you or someone you know is struggling with depression or has had thoughts of harming themselves or taking their own life, get help. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (1-800-273-8255) provides 24/7, free, confidential support for people in distress, as well as best practices for professionals and resources to aid in prevention and crisis situations.
