Destination Close Up: The Beverly Hilton Hotel

If the walls could talk at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, they might share the stories of Hollywood’s most glamorous, or gush about hosting every Golden Globes Awards since 1961. Maybe they would let you in on the moments captured only in black and white film. The Beverly Hilton is the essence of authentic Hollywood, insists Lauryn Hudson Edwards, Regional Director of Sales at Prestige.
“The feeling you get when you walk through The Beverly Hilton is being a part of iconic royalty and history in Beverly Hills,” Edwards said.
While on a weekend familiarization trip, Edwards watched the property transform for the 2014 Golden Globes on January 12. Hotel spaces were carefully curated for the festivities; after-parties were lit, decorated and catered everywhere from the pool deck to the parking lot. Edwards was impressed with Bixel & Co. Destination Management Company for their work helping the Beverly Hilton to bring the weekend together.
The exclusive event required just as much preparation for guests as it did for the hotel. Edwards was given the star experience with a group of 21 other attendees.
A GOLDEN GLOBES WEEKEND AT THE BEVERLY HILTON HOTEL
Friday Evening: Dinner at Crustacean-House of An, a trendy restaurant in Beverly Hills.
Saturday Morning: Private shopping at Barneys, trend watch session, and a tour with TMZ.
“We were given a preview of what styles we might see on the red carpet and what colors were ‘in’ this year,” Edwards said.
Saturday Afternoon: Lunch at The Ivy (complete with celebrity spotting), followed by shopping on Robertson Boulevard and manicures and pedicures at CHI Nail Bar & Spa.
Saturday Evening: A delectable candy and wine pairing event at Sugarfina, followed by a steak dinner at Mastro’s.
Sunday: Hair and makeup treatments while enjoying a light brunch, followed by an exclusive champagne and sushi party on the red carpet. Attendees enjoyed a private viewing room with a live feed of the awards and later, a birds-eye view of the after-party excitement.
The red carpet pre-show was an enchanting event for the familiarization trip attendees.
“It’s the most electrifying energy,” Edwards said. “Not only are you under the lights and dressed in a beautiful gown, you really start to feel famous.”
