What will I do?

The Manager, Event Services Development is a strategic and creative event professional with hands-on experience in corporate event sales and proposal development. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our sales team and leadership to develop compelling client proposals, develop budgets, and craft strategic solutions that enhance our competitive position in the market. This position focuses on sales and strategy for events rather than execution, blending creativity with business strategy to secure new opportunities.

This position plays a key role in shaping our approach to opportunities, bringing fresh ideas, innovative strategies, and thoughtful recommendations to every proposal. The role is ideal for someone who thinks beyond traditional event planning, incorporating a marketing and creative mindset into proposals, identifying new working methods, and exploring emerging technologies and processes to enhance the client experience.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead Strategic Request for Proposal (RFP) Responses: Serve as an internal lead on large and complex RFPs. Drive proposal strategy, manage timelines, coordinate cross-functional teams, and deliver competitive, high-impact submissions.
  • Develop Strategic Solutions: Partner with sales leadership to shape thoughtful approaches to client programs, including team structures, pricing models, and service solutions.
  • Own the Proposal Process: Create visually compelling, strategically positioned proposals that tell a clear and engaging story. Integrate strong messaging, design-forward thinking, and modern tools to elevate how we present our services.
  • Drive Innovation: Bring fresh perspectives to how we approach proposals, processes, and client solutions. Identify opportunities to improve workflows, introduce new technologies, and enhance the overall strategy behind our offerings.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with sales, operations, and leadership to develop ideas that are both creative and operationally sound. Build strong internal relationships and contribute to a collaborative, solutions-driven culture.
  • Stay Ahead of Industry Trends: Continuously explore emerging technologies, marketing strategies, and creative concepts that can enhance proposals, client engagement, and event experiences.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • 4–8+ years of experience in corporate events, strategic proposal development, event sales, marketing, or a related role supporting client-facing programs.
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to approach opportunities with a big-picture mindset, identifying innovative solutions and long-term value for clients.
  • Creative & Marketing-Oriented: Strong creative instincts and an understanding of how design, messaging, and storytelling can influence client decisions.
  • Proposal & Presentation Expertise: Exceptional writing, organization, and visual storytelling skills with the ability to develop polished, compelling proposals.
  • Project Leadership: Comfortable managing timelines, coordinating contributors, and driving projects forward in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative Communicator: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders through ideas and strategy.
  • Forward-Thinking Mindset: Curious about new technologies, tools, and processes that can enhance proposals, internal workflows, and the client experience.
  • Results-Oriented: Motivated to develop solutions that help win new business and strengthen client relationships.
