Interview with Gary Scott, Assistant General Manager, The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas
Imagine your next corporate meeting in the same room that world-famous musicians have played in for nearly 20 years. Picture your attendees walking down the hallway to your meeting with rock ‘n’ roll relics along on the walls. The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Las Vegas is both a hub for music history, and a lively meeting and event venue continuously changing to exceed the needs of their clients.
“We truly are the original rock and roll hotel,” said Gary Scott, Assistant General Manager at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Las Vegas. The off-the-strip hotel receives the star treatment of a museum. The property has its own curator who collects instruments, iconic photos, costumes and autographs from the greatest names in the music industry to be displayed throughout the hotel.
“You can’t walk five feet without seeing a signed drum kit or a guitar pick from rock bands that’ve played here,” Scott said. “It’s an exclusive experience that sets us apart.”
Rock ‘n roll history is just one element that sets the tone at the Hard Rock. A constant flow of new entertainment and convenient amenities keep guests happy and likely to return. A classic favorite, Guns N’ Roses, is currently performing nine shows at The Joint, the main stage at the property and seating 4,000 people.
The entire hotel can be customized for any group. From the sales team to the banquet staff, the staff can brand any aspect of the property to reflect the client’s wishes.
“It’s all hands on deck for groups at our property,” Scott said. “We’ve even gone so far as to temporarily rename the hotel for a group on our marquee!”
The Hard Rock convention space is enjoyably unconventional. The on-site concert venue, The Joint, and smaller venue, Vinyl, can be converted to meeting and event space for groups, among other common spaces. The Hard Rock’s state-of-the-art venues and A/V technology can be used to host a company presentation or special show. The property also operates six acres of pools, offering a refreshing oasis and a sense of space to an otherwise fast-paced, desert city.
